The validation of information on medical and pharmaceutical products or packaging, such as to verify date and batch codes (OCR/OCV) is a legal requirement today. Many systems reach their limits when verifying complex labels or direct markings on glass, plastic or metal, for example.

Even for text or codes on transparent or mirrored materials, VMT-IS/V offers the most reliable character and text recognition available using a combination of high-performance algorithms for location detection, optional color image processing and outstanding OCR/OCV tools.

Variable data that is also a combination of 1D barcodes, 2D matrix codes or additional plain text, can be reliably verified. Even special applications such as braille recognition or a combination of optical identification and RFID are possible.
